One of the plot twists that Marvel pulled off on the fans was The Thunderbolts* The outcome for Taskmaster was also determined. Initially, Olga Kurylenko's character was considered an equally important part of the group of antiheroes, but she unfortunately died prematurely.

What's even more astonishing is how rapidly Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) Taskmaster's life came to an end. In a short battle scene, Ghost suddenly disappeared and then reemerged in front of the ex-Russian assassin, promptly pulling the trigger of what appeared to be an ordinary handgun.

What stands out is that even though Taskmaster underwent extensive training—including combat mirroring—and made numerous preparations, these skills proved ineffective when facing off against Ghost. It’s possible that Taskmaster's capabilities were somewhat diminished in this specific film adaptation due to several occurrences from 2019's Black Widow She showcased her skill in evading and deflecting projectiles using almost improbable counter-moves. However, seeing her succumb to just one bullet seems strange.

It’s highly probable that Marvel planned to eliminate this iteration of Taskmaster right from the start. This character holds great importance within storylines featuring the Avengers, the Masters of Evil, as well as almost every group of superheroes, thus playing a crucial part in advancing the narrative.
