Undercover Drug Probe Results in Arrest in Laurel County

LONDON, Ky. ( FOX 56 )—A man was taken into custody on Tuesday following an undercover drug operation in Laurel County.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, an inquiry involving narcotics deputies and the DEA led to a search warrant being executed on Newt's Way, approximately four miles south of London, at the residence of 35-year-old Timothy Hamilton.

According to a news statement, approximately 6.5 ounces of methamphetamine were seized as evidence following the investigation.

As per the statement from the office, Hamilton refused to vacate the residence.

According to detectives, Hamilton attempted to eliminate the methamphetamine by flushing it down the toilet, but this method failed.

Hamilton faces charges for his alleged involvement in the first offense of trafficking methamphetamine, which is categorized as a first-degree crime. Additionally, he is accused of tampering with physical evidence and possessing drug-related equipment.

It was an excellent team effort that concluded flawlessly without any injuries among neighbors, witnesses, law enforcement officials, or the suspect," stated Laurel County Sheriff John Root. "The drug investigation efforts will continue under the guidance of the Laurel County Sheriff’s narcotics unit.
