Trump's Effigy: Controversial Statue Sparks Debate Near Oval Office
US President Donald Trump has placed a new artwork in the Oval Office—a sculpture illustrating the events following the July 2024 assassination attempt against him in Butler, Pennsylvania.
On Friday, when President Trump was signing multiple executive orders in front of journalists, the sculpture was noticed placed on a side table beside his Resolute Desk.
On a tweet from X, the White House stated, "FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! Seen in the Oval Office."
The sculpture shows Trump raising his fist aloft immediately following the moment when one of attempted assailant Thomas Matthew Crooks' bullets struck him in the ear on July 13.
"Fight! Fight! Fight!" Trump yelled at supporters gathered at the Butler Farm Show Grounds, an unforgettable scene immortalized by the artist.
Three Secret Service agents, including the current director of the agency Sean Curran, can also be seen in the art piece trying to usher Trump offstage.
The Oval Office statue isn't the only piece of art related to the Butler assassination attempt on display at the White House.
The painting depicts Trump moments after a bullet grazed his ear during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last July. Trump is shown defiantly raising his fist in the air with blood splattered across his face and the American flag in the background.
Special Assistant to the President and White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Harrison Fields clarified in a post on X that "Obama remains in the Entrance Hall of the White House State Floor."
The painting is showcased in the Grand Foyer of the East Wing, whereas the portrait of former President Barack Obama has been moved to the Entrance Hall on the White House State Floor.
Fields' posting indicates that the Obama artwork continues to be displayed prominently, positioned above the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Steinway grand piano, as noted by the New York Post.
