Storms Ravage Palm Beach County: Flooding and Fallen Trees Widespread

Intense rain and strong gusts caused isolated flooding and fallen trees in Palm Beach County on Monday night.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., Palm Beach County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the Westlake region due to a reported incident where a power line had come into contact with a tree, sparking a fire. Upon arrival, Fire Rescue personnel pinpointed the affected wire and confirmed that the flames were out. While patrolling the vicinity, they observed signs of significant storm damage throughout the neighborhood, such as multiple fallen trees.

Chief Certified Meteorologist Cris Martinez reports that areas within Palm Beach County received between 3 to 6 inches of rain on Monday.

WPBF dispatched a team to the region to assess the destruction.

A flood advisory was active for northeastern Palm Beach County until 9 p.m. on Monday evening.
