Sold-Out Fundraiser in Corning Puts Money in the Pocket of CareFirstNY
CORNING, N.Y. ( WETM — A fully booked brunch fundraising event with over 100 participants assists in raising funds for CareFirstNY.
The fundraising event, "Brunch in Bloom," took place at The Pines venue in Corning. Attendees enjoyed a brunch buffet along with donated goods from various local enterprises across Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben counties. Guests bought tickets anticipating chances to win raffle prizes and participated in an ongoing live auction, contributing extra financial support. According to Kate Fuller, who serves as the Marketing and Communications Specialist for CareFirstNY, this gathering aimed to address budget shortfalls within their organization.
Events such as these that raise funds assist us in supporting care for individuals who might not otherwise be able to afford it due to being underinsured or lacking insurance," Fuller explained. "The main focus is enabling people to make the most out of their remaining time. Essentially, we aim to create a supportive community around those in our area.
"I find it fantastic that numerous local enterprises have shown such generosity, enabling many individuals to buy raffle tickets. This will generate additional funds for CareFirst," stated participant Jane Fastiggi.
Fuller reports that over $10,000 has been collected, which will be used for funding hospice care, providing grief support, and offering mental health counseling services.
