Senior Living Community Set to Transform Philipsburg Area
PHILIPSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — A large-scale new residential project aimed at individuals aged 55 and above will be established on the location where the former Philipsburg Area Hospital once stood.
Initially, the 15-acre plot was under the ownership of the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership (MVEDP). According to Stanley LaFuria, who leads MVEDP as director, part of this property will accommodate a new training center for Moshannon Valley EMS at an estimated cost between $2-3 million. The remaining portion will host the planned Graystone Philipsburg development, which has an expected budget ranging from $7-10 million.
This project encompasses 66 residences within a five-story structure. Currently, only this single building is scheduled, yet additional expansion may occur down the line.
"Perhaps in the future, there could also be an option for constructing separate single-family houses in this area," LaFuria mentioned.
