Robots Serving Burgers: Inside the New Silicon Valley Restaurant Revolution
A restaurant called Burger Bots has opened in Los Gatos within the core of Silicon Valley, and according to its owner, it represents the next big thing in dining.
Elizabeth Truong claims she has discovered a method for generating swift and reliable meal preparation, precisely tailored to each customer’s preferences—by employing a robot as an assistant chef.
In the mornings, this place transforms into Breaking Dawn, a popular brunch location, whereas come evening, it becomes First Born, a renowned dining venue.
However, now we have Burger Bot – a revolutionary technological twist on burgers and fries.
"I think there's just one like this in the entire world," Truong stated.
In the heart of Silicon Valley, Truong mentions that this recent advancement is transforming how burgers are prepared.

This doesn't remove the human element entirely, but Truong notes that it enhances workflows as the industry evolves.
“You head to the grocery store, and you witness how all our frozen foods are manufactured using robots,” Truong explained. “However, with this, you can observe everything firsthand. It’s set to become your new assistant in the kitchen.”
Once the burger patty and ingredients have been prepped by human employees, two distinct ABB robots then assume control of the process.

The Burger Bot constructs a burger and french fry combo precisely as the customer desires.
Three elements make up this system," Truong explained. "Firstly, we have a vegetable cutter and dispenser. This device slices vegetables such as onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles according to the specific preferences of each customer. Whether they prefer more, less, or even none at all, customers get to witness this customization process firsthand. Next comes the sauce dispenser, allowing individuals to request additional sauce or opt for no sauce entirely, with everything being visibly dispensed right before their eyes. Lastly, the robotic arm not only seals the sandwich but also retrieves the French fries, which you can observe here.
The robot moves to the table in approximately one minute.
A customer desires reliability, effectiveness, and openness when it comes to food experiences, as mentioned by Truong. The aim is to walk in expecting a great burger each and every time without fail.
Burger Bots is open in downtown Los Gatos from Tuesday through Sunday, operating from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
