Motorcycle Crash on I-82 Blamed on Equipment Failure Leaves Rider Injured

A man from Prosser was hurt when his motorcycle collided with something on Interstate 82 on Friday because of a mechanical issue, reported the Washington State Patrol.

Juan Guzman, aged 33, was traveling westward and had not yet reached a mile beyond the point when I-82 Benton City exit At 4:15 p.m., his rear wheel slid due to a mechanical problem, as reported by the WSP.

According to a WSP report, he had a motorcycle helmet on.

He was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. Details about his condition were unavailable on Saturday.

WSP indicates that he might be charged for lacking a motorcycle endorsement, not carrying insurance, having registration tabs invalid for over two months, and operating a vehicle with faulty equipment.
