Moline Garage Fire: Investigation Continues
Nobody sustained injuries on Sunday afternoon when a fire broke out in a separate garage at a home on Avenue of the Cities in Moline, as stated in a press statement from the Moline Fire Department.
Around 1:30 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a structural blaze affecting a separate garage at a home on Avenue of the Cities. Upon arrival, they discovered that both the garage and two neighboring cars were completely ablaze, emitting dense plumes of dark smoke noticeable from multiple blocks distant.
The firefighters initiated a rapid external assault, swiftly confining the blaze and stopping it from reaching adjacent houses and buildings. Although the main house along with some surrounding areas suffered heat damage, the prompt action of the firefighting team kept the flames contained within the original site.
Electricity was briefly cut off at the damaged home and one neighboring house as a safety measure.
Both houses are still livable. Nobody was hurt. The cause of the fire is still being looked into. Firefighters request that anyone who has extra details get in touch with the Moline Fire Department Investigation Unit at 309-524-2250.
The Moline Fire Department got help from the Rock Island Fire Department, the Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department, and the East Moline Fire Department.
MidAmerican Energy helped at the location by ensuring the safety of utility services and addressing electrical dangers.
