U.S. immigration authorities apprehended a Venezuelan immigrant in Texas who is sought back home for allegedly orchestrating four contract killings, officials stated.
Anthony Fabian Marin La Torre, aged 42, was first detained at the southern border in San Luis, Arizona, on September 26, 2022, and then allowed entry into the U.S., as reported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

In early May, ICE joined forces with three additional federal agencies on the streets of Dallas suburbs, including Grapevine, to apprehend Marin La Torre.
It's probable that border officials did not uncover Marin La Torre’s criminal background upon his initial entry into the U.S., as the Maduro government was not cooperating with the Biden administration and declined to provide information regarding criminal records.
At that time, border officers routinely freed Venezuelan migrants who had crossed the border illegally without being able to adequately review them.
That has all changed under the Trump administration This led to the Venezuelan government agreeing to accept deportation flights from the U.S. and establishing lines of communication for law enforcement purposes.
It remains unclear whether Marin La Torre was associated with a group similar to Tren de Aragua, an organization that originated within Venezuelan prison systems.
This individual, wanted for several appalling offenses, poses an unacceptable risk to the communities in Texas, which we cannot condone," stated Josh Johnson, Acting Field Office Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Dallas, regarding the recent apprehension.
"ICE Dallas will consistently prioritize improving public safety and apprehending and deporting individuals who pose a criminal threat," Johnson stated additionally.
Marin La Torre is currently waiting for a deportation order while being held in ICE custody.
