HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) — On Thursday night, dozens of students' families at Houghton Elementary School had the opportunity to view the creative works produced by their children.

This event was a component of the school’s yearly Fine Arts Night. Pupils from every grade level exhibited their themed artistic projects for their relatives. As an illustration, fourth-grade students created artwork inspired by ancient Egyptian papyrus, whereas third-grade children crafted papier-mâché mask sculptures.

The children are incredibly enthusiastic about displaying their creative talents," remarked Melissa Hronkin, the visual arts teacher at Houghton Elementary School. "We have remarkable enthusiasm and backing from our families when it comes to supporting the arts.

Families had the option to join a scavenger hunt and watch a performance by the school’s choir. Additionally, students were encouraged to make a fruit and vegetable platter, which was introduced as a fresh feature this year. According to Hronkin, over a thousand artworks are exhibited this year.

Hronkin stated, "Making art is essentially a celebration where we must embrace joy... alongside our education." He added, "This transforms it into a fantastic environment for both students and educators within a remarkable community."

Hronkin mentions that the students dedicated themselves to working on their artwork over the entire academic year, and these creations will be exhibited for some duration.
