Former Broncos QB John Elway Expresses Profound Grief in Statement Following Tragic Loss
On Wednesday afternoon, former Denver Broncos quarterback, general manager, and head of football operations John Elway issued a statement regarding the loss of his business partner r Jeff Sperbeck.
According to numerous reports, Sperbeck, who was 62 years old, passed away on Wednesday due to injuries resulting from his fall from a golf cart. This accident happened on Saturday evening in La Quinta, California. He succumbed to those injuries at a hospital in Palm Springs, California.

According to a tweet by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on X, Elway released a statement Regarding the passing of Sperbeck, he referred to him as a "close friend."
I am utterly shattered and deeply saddened by the death of my dear friend, business associate, and agent Jeff Sperbeck," Elway expressed. "No words can adequately convey the immense grief I experience from losing someone who has been incredibly significant in my life.
My heartfelt condolences extend to Jeff’s spouse, Cori, along with his kids, Carly, Sam, and Jackson, as well as all those who cherished him. I am profoundly saddened by the loss of Jeff, whose fidelity, insight, camaraderie, and affection have greatly enriched both my life and the lives of countless others."
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department remains nvestigating the incident According to TMZ, authorities do not think Elway was operating his vehicle recklessly during the event.
Elway was selected as the top pick for the Broncos in the 1983 NFL Draft. He claimed victory in Super Bowls XXXII and XXXIII as a player, and also triumphed in Super Bowl XXXIII during his time as an executive.
