With Mother's Day this Sunday — floral shops are blooming with business.

Inside Cardell Floral, it's been a busy day fulfilling orders, answering calls, and making deliveries. Mother's Day is the second busiest week for Jill Lascarbeau and her team.

"It's a wonderful business to be in and bring joy to people," smiled Lescarbeau.

This year, she said all eyes have been on yellow roses for bouquets. Those roses are from South America — and could come with a higher price tag.

She stated that this is truly an unprecedented experience for us.

As reported by the National Retail Federation, Americans are projected to spend over $3 billion just on flowers.

Tariffs have become an unwelcome surprise for florists this year, and now they are bracing themselves for tighter margins.

We haven't determined the complete scope yet since we bought roses and flowers before Mother's Day," explained Lescarbeau. "Prices have increased, but I'm still uncertain about the overall effect.

Even with the financial strain, Lascarbeau discovers solace among the flowers and in crafting exquisite bouquets for his clientele.
