Firefighters Rush to Quell Suspicious House Fire, Rescue Three Trapped Pets
SCHERTZ, Texas — On Sunday, firefighters swiftly brought a house fire under control.
The fire was reported around 2:29 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, close to the intersection of Curtiss Avenue and Lindberg Avenue, located near the Randolph Air Force Base.
The crews reached the location in just five minutes and noted significant smoke and fire at the entrance of the house, along with flames spreading towards a bedroom, according to the Schertz Fire Department.
The flames were contained within less than 10 minutes. Luckily, nobody—neither residents nor firefighters—was injured during the incident. Additionally, emergency responders successfully saved three animals from inside the house.
A total of seven firefighting vehicles and 19 staff members from both the Schertz and Cibolo Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene. Although the origin of the blaze is still under examination, authorities view it with suspicion at this time.
