FHP Reports: Tragic Death of Bicyclist in Crash on Lake County's County Road 473

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating after a bicyclist was hit and killed on a Lake County road Sunday evening.

According to troopers, the crash happened around 6:33 p.m. on County Road 473 south of Fountain Lake Boulevard. Investigators said a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck traveling southbound struck a bicyclist who was traveling northbound on the southbound outside shoulder when the bicyclist swerved into the Toyota's path.

The 69-year-old Eustis man riding the bicycle was pronounced dead at the crash.

The driver of the Toyota, a 61-year-old man from Leesburg, was not injured and remained at the scene.
