HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The 2025 Combined State of Hawaii and City and County of Honolulu Food Drive concluded with a special delivery on Tuesday.

Donations of food gathered from various city and state offices were assembled within the courtyard of Honolulu Hale. Staff members created a human conveyor system to transfer the provisions onto a Foodbank truck, with the melody of the Royal Hawaiian Band resonating across the grassy area.

The truck traveled alongside state and municipal vehicles in a procession that was guided to the Hawaii Foodbank warehouse by the Honolulu Police Department’s lone motorcycle unit.

The shipment carried thousands of pounds of provisions that will nourish families facing hardship.

"We're currently serving around 170,000 individuals each month. This figure reflects what we observed at the peak of the pandemic and represents approximately double the number of people we served before the outbreak," stated Hawaii Foodbank President and CEO Amy Miller.

While the joint drive may be over, officials urge the public to give what they can.

"Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke urged everyone to keep reaching out to the Foodbank, connecting with the Food Basket partners, and ensuring that we continue providing food for our community," she stated.
