Bridge Replacement Project Set to Launch in Cumberland County: PennDOT
The Pennsylvania DOT (PennDOT) has stated that a bridge replacement initiative on Route 74 (York Road) in Cumberland County will commence in early June.
A statement revealed that the bridge stretches over both the Yellow Breeches Creek and the Norfolk Southern railway lines, connecting Park Place and Sheaffer Road at their junction with Creek Road (T-650), located within Monroe Township.
Assuming favorable weather conditions, construction will start on Monday, June 2. Both the bridge and Creek Road where it meets Route 74 will be shut down. Drivers should expect detours for these routes.
The diversion for Route 74 (York Road) will utilize Route 15, Lisburn Road (Route 2004), and Route 174 (Boiling Springs Road).
The detour for Creek Road will utilize Sheaffer Road, Locust Point Road (Route 1007), Park Place, Route 74 (York Road), Leidigh Road, and Kuhn Road.
The Susquehanna Valley Construction Corporation from New Cumberland has been contracted for this nearly $3 million project. The entire scope of work is anticipated to finish by September 25, 2026.
