GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — The City Commission of Archer has voted unanimously to draft a letter requesting assistance from Alachua County officials in addressing their financial obligations.
Instead of spreading out the payment over time, they are requesting $253,000 in infrastructure tax money from the county upfront.
That amount is intended to settle a $300,000 liability to the engineering and grant management company Kimley-Horn.
Several locals expressed doubt about the city collaborating with the company.
All together, Archer has faced over $1 million in debts.
