Albany's Tulip Festival Blossoms: Record-Breaking Vendors Crown New Tulip Queen

ALBANY, N.Y. — The 77th Annual Tulip Festival is underway this weekend, with Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan expressing enthusiasm about the event. "The tulips look the best they have in years," said Sheehan in an interview with CBS 6.

Friday, the festival introduced the new nominees for Tulip Queen and Tulip Court. The event also featured Albany High School students dressed in traditional Dutch attire and a performance by a member of the Capital District Youth Pipe Band.

Saturday, Abigail Williams was announced as the new Tulip Queen. The festival is set to host a record number of vendors, offering fine arts, food, and informational booths on volunteering and accessing services.

The Tulip Festival will continue through Sunday, with the Capital Region's Best Mom crowned at noon.
