Star Running Back Secures Deal with Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren has accepted the team's one-year restricted free-agent tender.
On Monday, Warren and Atlanta Falcons Center Ryan Neuzil and wide receiver Kyle Warren are the only two players who haven't signed their tenders yet. However, Warren has now put pen to paper, securing his place with the Steelers for the 2025 season.
Warren's tender will be for one year, after which he would become an unrestricted free agent in 2026. The Steelers responded with a second-round tender, offering him a one-year pact valued at $5.346 million.
Even though the 2024 season was marred by various injuries, Warren emerged as the team’s primary running back towards the end. Despite his ongoing struggles with hamstring and knee issues, he managed to accumulate more than 800 total yards by the conclusion of the campaign.
Now that running back Najee Harris is no longer around, this presents an opportunity for Warren to step into a primary role within the team’s rushing attack. Despite the upcoming selection of a newcomer through the draft, Warren possesses both the seasoning and skill set needed to handle a larger share of carries compared to what he had over his first three years in the league.
In addition to Kenneth Gainwell, Warren and the newcomer should form the trio of players the Steelers have in their backfield on the current roster.
DraftKings has established the Steelers' team total win line at 8.5 for the approaching NFL season. Our all-encompassing DraftKings Sportsbook review offers instructions on utilizing their platform.
