Below are the Giants' choices, selections, and evaluations for the 2025 NFL Draft.

The New York Giants' 2025 NFL Draft selections

1st Round, No. 3 overall | Abdul Carter, Edge Rusher from Penn State

Instant grade: A

Analysis: The Giants strengthen their roster by selecting an outstanding pass rusher with elite potential in Carter. He exhibits explosiveness similar to the most prominent defensive ends drafted in recent years when coming off the edge. According to ESPN, the Giants attempted to secure the first overall pick from Tennessee but found significant value here instead. This selection serves as quite a valuable alternative after failing to move up.

1st Round, Pick No. 25 Overall (originally from Houston) | Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

Instant grade: D

Analysis: This poses a significant risk for a team where both the general manager and head coach must secure victories immediately. Dart isn’t expected to start from day one, and his game requires considerable improvement in terms of footwork alongside average physical attributes. It’s unclear why there has been discussion about Shedeur Sanders’ throwing ability without similar attention being paid to Dart’s during this off-season. Although this deal doesn’t represent a major leap in draft position for the Giants based on their valuation, Dart does not possess the caliber typically seen as worthy of selection within the first round.

TRADE ALERT: The Giants exchange the No. 34 overall pick, the No. 99 overall pick, and a third-round selection for 2026 with the Houston Texans For the No. 25 spot overall, according to ESPN’s report.

3rd Round, Pick 65 | Darius Alexander, Defensive Tackle, Toledo

Instant grade: B-minus

Analysis: I'm less impressed with Alexander compared to some others, since I feel his initial explosive movement wasn't strong enough to warrant being picked on Days 1 or 2. While he shows decent physicality and improves at using his hands over time, he has to improve his quickness on the field.
