After the NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega on Sunday, Ryan Preece from RFK Racing and Joey Logano from Team Penske were both excluded from the event.

Both squads broke the regulations concerning the rear spoiler.

Preece secured his career-best second place finish, while Logano came in fifth. Currently, they are ranked 38th and 39th respectively.

He got disqualified because he had three rear spoiler shims rather than two, and similarly, Logano was excluded due to a missing spoiler bolt.

Both sides have declared that they will not contest their respective disqualification rulings, hence the outcomes remain unchanged.

Preece has fallen from 11th to 18th place in the championship rankings. His position changed from being 28 points ahead of the playoff cutoff line to now trailing by 14 points. Meanwhile, Logano moved from having a lead of 73 points over the cutoff line to leading by only 36 points.
