Man Fatally Injured in Tragic Crash on Broadway
Tucson, Ariz. (13 News) – According to the Tucson Police Department, a man succumbed to injuries he sustained in an accident earlier this month.
The TPD states that officers were dispatched to the accident scene on April 17 at the crossing of East Broadway Boulevard and East Prudence Road.
The accident included a blue 2016 Nissan Versa and a white 2021 Dodge Challenger.
The 60-year-old driver of the Nissan, Francisco Javier De La Ree Cajigas, was transported to the hospital where he passed away on Thursday, April 24, as stated by the police.
The driver of the Dodge, an adult female, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
According to the TPD, the Nissan was moving eastward in the left turn lane on Broadway Boulevard and attempted to execute a left turn onto northbound Prudence Road.
The Dodge was moving westward on Broadway Boulevard when it crashed into the Nissan.
The police indicate that there were no signs of impairment affecting either driver.
According to the TPD, failing to yield when turning left with the Nissan seems to be the primary cause of the accident.
