Virgin-Qatar Airways alliance will ‘increase choice and competition’ for Australians

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has supported an interim agreement between Virgin Australia and Qatar Airways that will enable 28 new weekly flights between Australia, the Middle East and Europe.

ACCC Chair Gina Cass-Gottlieb says the agreement will "boost choice and competition" for Aussies looking to travel overseas.

“It’s also got the advantage that when you bring in more international customers to Australia, it creates more competition from them choosing domestic routes,” Ms Cass-Gottlieb said.
