Space telescope set to target rogue asteroid

Researchers are using advanced technology to monitor a comet that's on a potential collision course with the Earth.

CNN's Patrick Cornell reports that the James Webb Space Telescope is tackling a new space challenge, assisting in safeguarding the Earth from a potential asteroid impact.

The telescope is formally known for taking some of the "prettiest pics" of the galaxy.

NASA is currently keeping an eye on Asteroid 2024 YR4, which, according to experts in the field, has a 2.3 per cent chance of colliding with the Earth on December 22, 2032.
