Brady was most recently co-host of the much-loved Remember When program on 3AW alongside Simon Owens.

Previously, he shared a legendary on-air partnership with Bruce Mansfield on Nightline.

News of Brady's death was announced on 3AW this morning.

"We've had some very sad news here at 3AW, he's been a close mate and a valued colleague for many years here," 3AW Mornings presenter Tom Elliot said.

"Philip Brady passed away really early this morning," Elliot said.

Fair dinkum, he got a nasty cancer diagnosis, mate, he let me know about it towards the end of last year.

He said he was riddled with cancer and didn't expect to be around for much longer, so to be honest, this isn't a shock.

But it's a real shame, because I don't think we'll see the likes of Philip Brady again.

This bloke could do it all - he was good on telly, he was good on the radio, he could crack people up, he could have a serious yarn if he had to.

He was always upbeat, had a fantastic attitude, and always had a smile on his face.

Paying respects have started coming in for the seasoned radio personality.

"Phil was a top mate to many, genuinely loving his time on the air and giving a fair dinkum helping hand to heaps of listeners and colleagues with advice, support and mateship," 3AW Station Manager Stephen Beers said.

Phil will be deeply missed by all at 774 Melbourne.

Brady was employed as a radio announcer by Channel Nine in 1958, prior to joining well-known presenter Graham Kennedy.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Brady hosted TV game shows such as Concentration, Everybody's Talking, Moneymakers, Junior Moneymakers, Casino Ten, Get the Message and Password.

until 2019.

until January 12 2025.

Brady announced his retirement from radio on 2 February 2025.
