Ontario to remove U.S. alcohol from shelves after Trump's tariffs announcement
- The Liquor Control Board of Ontario will stop selling American alcohol because of the tariffs placed on Canada by Trump.
- Starting next Tuesday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford is directing that these products be removed from store shelves when the new tariff takes effect.

Canada primarily imports hard liquor from the US, with an estimated $320 million in sales. The United States' second largest export market for liquor as of October 2024 is Canada, valued at approximately $25.9 million, according to the Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC).
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch should "immediately cease purchasing liquor from "red states" and remove the top-selling brands from "red states" from store shelves."
