The Vikings have set a limit on how much they're willing to spend on Darnold, according to Fowler. He also mentions that a transition tag could be a possible scenario.

Darnold became a free agent for the first time in his career in 2023, when he signed a one-year, $4.5 million contract with the 49ers. He then joined the Vikings for another one-year term during the most recent offseason.
