Jason Kelce breaks down in tears over confusion about him supporting Eagles over brother Travis

Jason stated that prior to the game, there was a perception that he was rooting for his former team to succeed, rather than his own brother.
It's a lot of people in that building – coaches, friends, teammates you've been through tough times with – and it really creates a very strong bond.
“And then on the other hand, you have your brother, and I've always been in your corner. I've always been rooting for you. I wanted you to win this game, and I made sure that was clear.”
Travis, who started dating Taylor Swift in 2023, responded: “You made it clear to me.” However, Jason said his thoughts about the Super Bowl were “hard to navigate.”
Some people were going to twist things and say I'm supporting the Eagles, and some people were going to twist things and say I'm supporting the Chiefs or Travis, and that really bothers me.
Travis complimented Jason on his work with the Eagles, saying that he's clearly been receiving a lot of support "loud and clear."
Jason's voice then began to crack as he said, "All that is true, we are still very attached to this organization, which is why there's a part of me that's obviously very happy and proud that they won this game."
Travis then reminded him that his support for the Eagles "doesn't make you any less of a brother."
Jason chimed back in, saying, "That doesn't take precedence over rooting for you. And that's why this game was really tough to watch."
After taking a moment to collect himself, he went on to say: "I had been trying to convince myself that I was rooting for both teams and that I would be happy and sad either way."
It doesn't matter who wins, I'll be feeling both happy and sad, no matter what. And I'm trying to explain why I'm rooting for the Eagles.
However, he caught himself and said, "I don't even want to do this."
Travis told his brother he didn't "owe" any critics the "acknowledgment," and that anyone who knows the former Eagles star knows his intentions.
The day after the Super Bowl, Jason released a lengthy statement on Twitter to congratulate the Eagles and his former teammates.
I knew it was going to be a mix of emotions before, during, and after, and now I understand what my parents went through two years ago. On one hand, I wanted what was best for my brother and to see him succeed.
an organization I have a strong affection for, many of whose members I am indebted to for my professional achievements.
He ended his post by sharing a message to his brother, saying that while he's "always rooting for Travis," the tight end didn't need or want his sympathy.
"He has achieved greatness that few others on this planet could even imagine, and so has his team, and they should take pride in their accomplishments this season and in the past," Jason added.
He discussed the rough Super Bowl loss, stating, "I couldn't find a lick of momentum" while playing at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
I'm beating myself up over some of the small choices I made out there on the field. I didn't lead my team as well as I could have in terms of motivating them and keeping them calm and focused," he said. "It's a tough thing to swallow. It's a harsh reality, man. I care deeply about my teammates, my coaches, and the Chiefs' fans - I'm sorry for how it all ended.
