‘India is not neutral, its stance is peace’: Narendra Modi on Russia-Ukraine war

The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, said during a joint press conference with the US President that he backs Donald Trump's efforts to bring an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

“Many people are under a misconception that India is neutral. I'd like to set the record straight – India is not neutral. We've taken a stance, and that stance is in support of peace,” Mr Modi said.

“I firmly believe that answers are not to be discovered on the frontlines.”

“India has continually made efforts for talks to occur between the two parties. It's only when both sides are present that a solution will be found. I support and welcome the efforts made by President Trump.”
