Donald Trump’s approval ratings soars during second presidential term

US President Donald Trump received a remarkably high approval rating from Australians (removed, as US-related text) at the start of his second term.

The President has been rated quite positively by registered voters for keeping the commitments he made during his election campaign.

Up to 70 per cent of Yanks reckon the bloke running the White House is doing exactly what he promised before he got the gig.

According to a CBS/YouGov poll, 30 per cent of Yanks reckon Trump's agenda has been "different from his promises".

The poll came out on Sunday, showing that Trump had a 53% approval rating, while 47% of Americans were not pleased with his performance.

Trump's second term as President was met with plenty of praise.

The survey found 69% labelled him as tough, 63% as energetic, 60% as focused, and 58% effective.
