Crowd chant 'MVP' at Bronny James in Lakers win
Lebron James' son, Bronny, received cheers from the crowd at the Washington Wizards' game when he scored a career-best five points against his own team in the NBA.
Adoring fans in the audience were shouting the 20-year-old's name long before he took the court for the fourth quarter at the Capitol One Arena.
In addition to his five points, James also grabbed two rebounds, dished out two assists, and recorded a steal in his late-game appearance, with the crowd cheering "MVP" (most valuable player) as he capped off the scoring with two late free throws.
Lakers dad, Lebron James, 40, had left the game in the timeout with 3 quarters remaining after scoring a game-high 24 points as well as 11 assists, contributing to the Lakers' easy 134-96 victory.
"He's been the center of attention since he was born," said Lakers coach JJ Redick.
He has handled everything with dignity, poise, and elegance, all the qualities you'd expect from someone of his stature. He'll continue to develop and progress.
The Lakers have won five of their past six games and currently sit fifth in the Western Conference standings. The Wizards are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings after suffering their worst losing streak in team history, losing 16 games in a row.
