Chinese warship drills are ‘not important’ to the Prime Minister

Strategic Analysis Australia Director Peter Jennings says the Albanese government is "just not focused" on the fact that Chinese warships are carrying out live-fire exercises off Australia's coast.

Anthony Albanese's ability to stand up to Beijing has been put in doubt again, after he was accused of misleading the public by saying Australia was given prior warning of a Chinese live fire exercise on Friday.

“Fair dinkum, the Prime Minister's not giving it a fair go, he's not paying attention to it and that's why he's not putting the heat on Defence to get the info to him on time,” Mr Jennings said to Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
