The original plan was to deliver the aircraft for Air Force One by December 2024. However, due to subsequent delays, the delivery date was pushed back to 2027 or 2028. The latest delay has further postponed the delivery.

Boeing's former defense division head stated in July that the company was facing challenges with supply chain issues, inflation, workforce problems, and other difficulties in producing the modified 747 airplanes. The program has resulted in Boeing losing over $2 billion due to the delays.

Boeing's new Air Force One is now expected to be delayed until 2029 or later, a government official has said.

These aircraft are designed to operate in the most severe security situations, such as a nuclear war, and have been equipped with military avionics, advanced communication systems, and a self-defense system.

Earlier this week, a Trump administration official told FOX Business' Edward Lawrence that the new Air Force One jets will be delayed until 2029 or later, due to issues caused by Boeing, which blame it on global supply chains and changing project requirements.
