Australian government monitoring Chinese warships off coast of Sydney

Warships from China have been seen about 150 nautical miles off the coast of Sydney.

The Australian Defence Force said they are closely watching the three military ships that have been making steady progress down the East coast over recent days.

The Australian Defence Force had first revealed the trio's presence off north-east Queensland's coast last week.

At the same time, it was also revealed an Aussie military plane had been involved in a hairy situation in the South China Sea.

While the ships haven't broken any international rules, the Australian Defence Force is on high alert.
