People living in cities such as Colorado Springs (ranked #1), Miami (ranked #2), Virginia Beach (ranked #3), El Paso (ranked #4), and Richmond (ranked #5) generally experience pleasant climates, plenty of recreational activities, and affordable living costs – although Miami is the exception to this rule.
Several of the top 10 housing markets have a good balance of ongoing new home construction and a sufficient number of existing homes for sale to meet the needs of potential buyers.
“Some areas, such as McAllen and Miami, have a large number of homeowners with high net worth who don’t have a mortgage or are locked in to their current mortgage rates, preventing those with lower mortgage rates from putting their properties on the market,” Adams stated.
It was noted that the more favorable weather in the sunbelt states tends to attract more investors, and these states are generally more accommodating to landlords, making it easier for them to safeguard their investments.
