Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed passes for 177 yards and one touchdown in the Chiefs' 23-12 victory over the Houston Texans, advancing to the AFC championship game for a seventh consecutive season.

The baby girl, named Golden Raye, was born on January 12.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce caught seven passes for 117 yards and a touchdown with girlfriend Taylor Swift in attendance, watched by WNBA star Caitlin Clark.

The Chiefs are the fourth team in NFL history to make it to the conference title game after winning back-to-back Super Bowls, and the other three teams that did this failed to succeed. The Chiefs will try to break this losing streak next Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium against the Bills or Ravens, who play each other in Buffalo this Sunday to try and win the right to play the team that has won the past two Super Bowls.

Mahomes' playoff record moved to 16-3, putting him tied with Joe Montana for the second-most postseason wins in NFL history, trailing only Tom Brady. With a 7-0 divisional round record, Mahomes also helped coach Andy Reid become the fourth NFL coach to achieve 300 career wins.

The Texans (11-8) have yet to win in six divisional matchups. They suffered losses to the Kansas City team in two separate occasions.

Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud threw for 245 yards and struggled significantly, sustaining eight sacks. Joe Mixon, who was listed as questionable due to an ankle injury, was able to make a few catches and ran for 88 yards, also scoring one touchdown.

Texans kicker Kai'imi Fairbairn botched a 55-yard field goal attempt, missed an extra-point try, and had another field goal attempt blocked with 1:46 left in the game. This would have kept the Hope alive, turning the game into a one-score situation in favor of Houston.
