NFL’s final 4 playoff teams, ranked by their chances of winning Super Bowl 59

The NFL has been narrowed down to their conference championship game winners.

On Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Washington Commanders secured their places in the AFC and NFC Championship Games, respectively. On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles and either the Buffalo Bills or the Baltimore Ravens also claimed their spots in those championship games.

There are four teams remaining, but which one do you think has the best opportunity to win the Lombardi Trophy in a few weeks?

Each week of the playoffs, our writers vote on the rankings. Here are the last four teams remaining in the NFL Playoffs, ranked in order of which team is most likely to win the Super Bowl.

4. Washington Commanders

off-line, but they have yet to respond.

They finished the weekend by beating one of the seven teams in the NFC division, with them being the sixth team on that list.

Before the Divisional Round games began, they had assessed themselves as being seventh among the eight teams.

Surprisingly, they've reached one of the last stages in the league rankings, and they're now one of just two teams left in the NFC.

Jayden Daniels has been a standout player this season, and that trend has carried over into the playoffs. He's performed almost flawlessly on the field for Washington, and his ability to excel under pressure, such as when facing a blitz, is just one indication of his remarkable development as a rookie quarterback.

With an opportunistic defense and a head coach who has learned from past mistakes, you have a recipe for success.

A recipe that needs to adjust the baking time to several additional weeks.

3. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are likely the most well-rounded team left in the playoffs. They have been able to adapt to any situation and still manage to excel. The 2024 version of this team is built around two key ideas: to either absolutely punish opponents with rugged running back Saquon Barkley on offense, or to completely control the line of scrimmage on defense. This is essentially the traditional approach to football in the NFL, where running the ball and having strong line play is the key to success, and the Eagles seem to do it better than anyone else.

The big question mark surrounding this team is what happens when someone is able to stop Barkley? Jalen Hurts has had his share of highs and lows this year. As a quarterback, his passer credentials have not lived up to previous years, and he hasn't reached 3,000 passing yards, a milestone he first didn't reach until as a rookie. Much of that is due to a shift in focus to running the ball, but this is still a concern for Eagles fans.

This is now complicated by concerns over injury, especially since Hurts took a pounding in the third quarter against the Rams and had to limp off the field. If he's slowed down, that could be a major issue.

2. Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen returns to the AFC Championship game for the first time sine the 2020 season, and like last time, they're facing the Chiefs. A lot has changed in the past four years, but for Buffalo, everything still centers around Josh Allen once more.

This season, a Buffalo Bills' quarterback has put on an impressive display. A standout performer both on the ground and in the air, the offense hinges heavily on his performances, often relying on him to pull out wins with spectacular plays. Despite being surrounded by his team's weakest supporting cast in quite some time - with running back James Cook being the notable exception - it's easy to overlook everybody else on the offense.

While this team stands out from the past in terms of confidence. Rather than playing like a team intimidated by the Chiefs or Bengals, this year Buffalo has been assured and playing like a more developed organization. The atmosphere is upbeat with this team, as evident in their game against the Ravens, where they forced three turnovers that altered the game's course.

There are certainly some areas of concern going forward. The Bills need a stronger pass rush, as their current secondary is prone to conceding big plays. Furthermore, if a defense can generate pressure in the middle of the field, it severely limits Allen's ability to feel secure in the pocket and run effectively up the middle.

Josh Allen is unstoppable on any given day, which makes Buffalo one of the most formidable teams still in the playoffs.

1. Kansas City Chiefs

The march goes on.

Game.

Questions may persist, ones about their age, the absence of explosive plays in the passing game, the question of luck running out, and whether the NFL catching up with them is merely a matter of time.

So far, Kansas City has been responsive to every question they've been given. Furthermore, the path to New Orleans passes through GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

And they still have #15, who is capable of delivering yet one more magical moment at a snap.
