Live updates: Trump pardons Jan. 6 rioters and signs sweeping orders on TikTok, border, energy

In his first hours as the nation's 47th president, President Trump issued a flurry of executive orders, fulfilling a promise he had made beforehand.

The Day One orders impact immigration procedures, extend pardons to individuals convicted in the January 6, 2021, riot; reverse the Biden administration's changes; retreat from international partnerships; and extend the ban on TikTok.

Trump delivered the first of three speeches in the Capitol Rotunda after being sworn in at noon. He then quickly gave a less scripted address in Emancipation Hall to a crowd that spilled out of the Rotunda. Before signing executive orders, Trump addressed the crowd attending the parade.

5. As a federal law enforcement matter, any agreement with the House would mean the size of a probe into the Jan. 6 insurrection will be largely left up to the collaboration of states.
