During his exit announcement, the reporter mentioned that his most memorable experience with CNN was actually one that occurred before Donald Trump became president.

Acosta emphasized the significance of a free press during his final comments. "I've always believed it's the responsibility of the press to hold those in power accountable," he said. "I've consistently attempted to do that at CNN, and I plan to keep doing that in the future."
He also urged viewers to resist misinformation and negative thinking. "One final message: Don't give in to lies," Acosta said. "Don't give in to fear. Hold on to the truth and to hope. Even if you need to get out your phone, record a message: 'I will not give in to lies, I will not give in to fear.' Share it on social media so others can hear too."
