When taking over his grandfather's farm in 2016, Byron Kominek had minimal knowledge about farming, but he understood that he needed to start earning a profit.

The garden also provides for his farm's livestock and allows him to grow crops like corn, radishes, and salad greens. Just from electricity alone, Kominek makes approximately $20,000 per year.

It's easy to see why agrivoltaics, which combines farming and solar power generation, is becoming a feasible land-use option for farmers. Being able to make money in several ways from their land, while also working in harmony with traditional farming methods, is definitely a win-win situation, especially when times are getting harder for farmers in the United States.
