Negotiators have officially agreed: this Sunday, January 19th, the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas will go into effect, as announced by Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha and President Joe Biden in Washington. Following this significant achievement, Conor McGregor is now asking that attention be focused on ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

After more than a year, the agreement is finalized after months of negotiations with Egypt, Qatar, and the United States serving as intermediaries, just days before Donald Trump inaugurates as President of the United States on January 20. Taking to Instagram, McGregor shared a tweet of the announcement about the ceasefire and added his quote,

After years of being rivals with Khabib Nurmagomedov and being a key figure in the heated Dagestan-Irish MMA debate, 'The Notorious' now wishes the country and its people to finally achieve peace following a conflict that began in 1991 after Ukraine gained independence. It's worth noting that Marco Rubio, the nominee for secretary of state chosen by Donald Trump, has recently called for "bold diplomacy" to end Russia's conflict in Ukraine. During his Senate confirmation hearing, he stated that while Vladimir Putin's decision to invade was unacceptable in his opinion, it cannot be denied that this war must come to an end.

Rubio also insisted that Moscow and Kiev make "concessions," stating that Ukraine's main issue isn't a financial one, but rather a manpower shortage - they lack enough Ukrainians. This means that Conor McGregor's statement might come true in a few months. Notably, McGregor too, has a relatively positive relationship with Vladimir Putin.

Conor McGregor's bond with the Russian President (There is no available information about a bond between the two.)

Former president Vladimir Putin has a good relationship with Conor McGregor after the Russian president invited the Irish fighter to the 2018 World Cup final in Russia. It's a strange and unlikely friendship, but one that has blossomed. After the Irishman and Putin first met in 2018, 'The Notorious' was all praise for the Russian leader.

A year later, McGregor disclosed that at the same time, he gave Putin a gift.

In a press conference in Moscow, the Irishman stated that the first bottle of "Proper Twelve" whiskey produced by his company was delivered to the president. The gift didn't go unnoticed, as the president's security team checked to ensure it wasn't a potential threat. Since it's likely that President Putin doesn't consider McGregor a threat, the Irishman might be able to facilitate a message of peace between the two nations in the coming days. Do you think the Irishman can persuade the Russian president to end the conflict? Share your thoughts in the comments.
