After being spotted dancing on stage with the Village People at a pre-inauguration celebration in Washington, Mr. Trump took the oath of office at his inauguration.

Donald Trump's first inauguration in 2017 showcased performances by the Rockettes, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and singer Jackie Evancho, who had competed on America's Got Talent.

The tradition of celebrity appearances at inauguration ceremonies has grown over time, with John F. Kennedy's having been one of the most star-studded in 1961.

The celebration, produced by Frank Sinatra, featured a star-studded guest list, including Harry Belafonte, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Gene Kelly, Sir Laurence Olivier, and Sidney Poitier.

Meanwhile, the first inauguration of President Obama in 2009 featured Aretha Franklin performing "My Country 'Tis Of Thee" as he took the oath of office, while the new president and his wife, Michelle, were entertained by Beyoncé singing "At Last" at an inaugural ball.
