Sonego was right on the ropes, so he decided to go to the net. At first glance, he seemed to have smashed an ace past Shelton, slapping it deep into the corner, but the American still managed to scramble around and hit what seemed to be the clincher for the break.

But the Italian made a swerving lunge to his left and managed to get racket on ball as he fell to the ground.
Not only did he manage to get the ball back over the court divider, but it had so much spin it then stuck and bounced back his way.
"Bloody ripper of a shot," Nine caller Brenton Speed laughed.
Shelton had sprinted towards the net in an effort to make the return, but instead found himself standing there with his hands on the net in stunned amazement.
The pair then shook hands in recognition of their massive achievement.
"It's mind-blowing, mate," John Millman said to Nine.
