This is a film that shares some connections with an earlier movie, despite not being part of a direct series. These movies feature similar stars or story elements, but they're not sequels.
They share cast members but not characters, and still have a cohesive feel. I've compiled a list of 11 pairs of movies which, although not part of a franchise, can be enjoyable to watch together.

One example is that both films are based on true stories that were originally told in non-fiction books written by author Nicolas Pileggi, and they star actors Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci as mobsters.
